1825 m. William Gray & Elizabeth Thrash, Montgomery Co., VA: Bond dated 6 Dec 1825, signed by William Gray, Joseph Gray [appears to me to be the signature of Joseph Gray Sr.], and John Thrash. Marriage Bond page in Register of Marriages [Book A p.198] shows no additional information. Ministers Return page in Register of Marriages [Book A p.376] shows date of marriage to be ?9 [copy is cut off on the left margin, right before the "9"] Dec 1825, minister is Peter Howard. [Other sources show this date to be 29 Dec 1825].

1826: m. John Terry & Clarrissa Gray, Montgomery Co., VA: Bond dated 6 Jun 1826, states Clarrissa d/o Joseph Gray Sr., signed by John Terry, Joseph Gray Jr. [his mark], and Joseph Gray [Sr]. Joseph Gray Jr. made oath that John Terry is above 21. Marriage Bond page in Register of Marriages [Book A p.202] shows no additional information. Ministers Return page in Register of Marriages [Book A p.378] shows date of marriage ["Clarrassa" Gray] to be 29 Mar 1826 [!?], minister is blank in the row, but the marriage appears to be in a section of marriages by Peter Howard.

1851: “By virtue of a license issued from the Clerk’s Office of Floyd County Court, I celebrated the rites of Marriage between Joseph Gray and Nancy Walton on the 13 day of May in accordance with the rules and usages of the Baptist Church. Given under my hand this 17th day of July 1851, George M. ????, Minister.”
