Dorset Alonzo Beebe SPEARS (1887-1960)

1887 (May 18): b. Dorset Alonzo SPEARS, South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. Born to Alexander SPEARS and Augusta Malvina BEEBE SPEARS.

1887: “When Dad [Dorset] was three weeks old, they moved to Chicago.”

1904 or 1905: moved to Glen Ellyn, DuPage Co., IL. “Dad [Dorset] was seventeen when Grandpa built the house on the corner of Duane and Taylor. Dad didn’t like Glen Ellyn, so he joined the Navy.” Dorset’s 1960 obit says 1904. Alexander’s 1926 obit says Spring 1905. The first recorded (Warranty) Deed for grantee Alexander Spears, for 482 Taylor (corner of Duane & Taylor), is dated 4 May 1905. Robert Spears died 27 May 1905 in Chicago.
